Each image keeps its own format — JPGs stay JPG, PNGs stay PNG, WebPs stay WebP.
JPG and WebP are compressed with the quality you choose. PNG is lossless, so its savings are smaller.
If compression can't make a file smaller, you get your original back unchanged — this tool never inflates a file.
Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will my images get?
Photos saved at high quality often shrink 50–80% at the 75% setting. Images that were already compressed shrink less — and if there's nothing to gain, we keep your original untouched.
Will compression make my images blurry?
At 70–85% quality, changes are hard to spot in normal photos. Heavy compression (below 60%) can soften fine detail and add artifacts — use the slider to find the balance you like, and convert again at a different setting any time.
Why did my PNG barely shrink?
PNG is a lossless format, so there's no quality slider to trade against size. If your PNG is a photo, converting it to JPG or WebP with our converters will save far more space.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser — your images never leave your device.
