Picking the right resolution

For an A4 page: Standard (1x) produces roughly 595x842 px, fine for previews and thumbnails. High (2x), about 1190x1684 px, is the sweet spot for slides, documents, and sharing. Very high (3x), about 1786x2526 px, suits print and close zooming. Higher resolutions produce proportionally larger files.

What your pages become

Each page renders to a standalone JPG, perfect for dropping a PDF page into a presentation, posting it where PDFs can't be embedded, or generating previews. The flip side: images have no text layer, so page text is no longer selectable or searchable.

JPG is the right pick for photographic pages and small files. If your pages are mostly text, diagrams, or screenshots, PDF to PNG exports them losslessly and keeps sharp edges free of compression smudging, and on text pages it costs surprisingly little extra size, as PDF to PNG or JPG shows with measurements.

Every page is rendered separately and named after the source file: report-page-1.jpg, report-page-2.jpg, and so on.
