Which format should I use?
JPG is the safe default for photos — small files, universal support. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, ideal for screenshots, logos, and graphics you’ll keep editing. WebP gives the smallest files at the same quality and is the best choice for websites. HEIC is what iPhones shoot — great compression, but poorly supported outside Apple devices, which is why converting it to JPG is so common.
